Solid and affordable. Every so often I'll notice influencers try to hype up places like this but it barely moves the needle. It's too far for all but the most dedicated foodies and yet it's going to chug along with or without hype. This is a go-to neighborhood spot and they won't care if you yelp or gram them. Service is fine. English is usable here. Ambience is minimal and functional. Maybe a minor gripe when it comes to cold weather, there's a bit of a draft even with their double door setup. On to the food. This is diner style. Cheap, greasy and satisfying comfort food. You'll get some rarer dishes like stinky tofu and goose intestines as well. You can probably go big and order market price seafood but you'll get a good meal regardless of which end of the price spectrum you want to play in.

One of the best Taiwanese places in queens. The green pepper with beef is the best! Spicy and tasty. Beef was very tender. The fish dish was so delicious. If u like heavy taste food, order this. Tofu is flavorful and super soft. Fish has small bones but the meat was sooo tasty. One of the most popular places for family hang out

A solid chicken leg over rice. The only think I wish is that I had more sauce for the rice lol. It was pretty busy today but service was on point and people here were kind and courteous. I definitely will be back to try other things on the menu. Yuuuum!!!

This is my favorite place to eat in Taiwanese food and in Elmhurst. There's a great selection of food to choose from. I got the house special fried rice, clams, cabbage this time around. It was delicious as always. I come here a lot and never had a bad meal. Everything comes out quickly and service is great. I love this place!

If you are looking for an authentic Taiwanese restaurant, this is it. It's a decent-sized place with a parking lot in the back. We were there around 11 a.m. and had no problem getting seated. The service was nice; they were friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a simple decoration--nothing really to mention. We ordered Oyster pancakes, beef with scallion, crispy pork chop, and stinky tofu. They are all delicious. I recommend crispy pork chop and oyster pancake; we enjoyed them. I recommend this place for good Taiwanese dishes. We will return if we are in the area again. We drove an hour to get there for a try; it was worth the trip.

It's been a little while since I was here last. Went in at 11:30am and I had never seen this place empty. Guess it was sorta early. Ordered the pork liver, beef with Chinese water crest, intestine and pickled mustard greens soup, pork and bamboo shoots, the crispy chicken and an oyster pancake. I had thought that the crispy chicken would be like fried chicken, but it was not. It's the battered chicken they serve in their chicken over rice. The combination of the soup and the various dishes we ordered really work well together (IMO). I gotta admit I did not remember the oyster pancake being so gummy/chewy. I wasn't much of a fan of it... felt a bit oily for me... but, my 12 yr old loved it. The decor in the place has not changed since pretty much I started going there several moons ago. The private parking lot has been repaved and it looks much cleaner now... their refuse dumpsters are still smelling it all up though.

Solid spot with a great menu! Came for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed so be prepared for a bit of a wait. We got: - blood rice cake 8/10: pretty solid, the sauce pairs nicely although the rice cake is a liiiiittle drier than i prefer - mee sua 8/10: i love this dish and i loved that they have a little portion size. It also came w intestines and some very large oysters. The soup wasn't as thick as it normally is so that was a bit of a letdown and therefore not my favorite - pork chops 10/10: forget everything you know about pork chops bc this was literally the best pork chop i've ever had. So juicy and flavorful and tender!!! So phenomenal. There's a version of it with rice underneath if you plan on having it for yourself. - small intestines 9/10: never had small intestines like this so that was interesting. It was ever so slightly spicy which was great - water spinach 8/10: solid stir fried water spinach. Nothing to write home about but gotta eat your greens! Can't wait to come back and eat all the other things on the menu!!

Cash only. There is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant. This is my go to spot for Taiwanese pork chop over rice when I'm in the area. I've done both take out and dine in and the food is consistent. Pork chop is crispy; add an egg. Besides the Taiwanese pork chop over rice, the Stinky Tofu and the Clams with Basil were good as well.

Finally was able to get a seat here on a national holiday Monday. This place has a good amount of seating (~50 total with tables varying from 2 to full family sized). I was really eager to try the classic Taiwanese dishes -- pork chop over rice with pickled veggies and the beef noodle soup -- so I ordered both, but the kind auntie told me that they were very big and I wouldn't be able to finish both (I appreciate that honesty!). I ended up settling for the rice dish, since I didn't want to pee on my bike ride back. The food came out in about 10 minutes (super quick) and from start to finish, it was a delight. The pork chop was perfectly marinated in that Taiwanese light fry style, and it was a hearty amount of meat and rice. The meat was very tender and it didn't feel too heavy, but it did feel substantial. I usually eat a lot, and it was JUST the right amount of food for me. At $9, you really can't go wrong. I'll be coming back or ordering out -- just be wary of the long lines!

Been coming here since I was a little girl and I will always love it. My favorite dish -- FISH. We get this every time we come here. The fish and sauce are addicting and the tofu is super smooth. The crispy fried pork chop is always a hit as well. Get this if you dine-in (it may not be hot and crispy if you order takeout). The beef w. basil is also a staple every time we eat here. It is a bit salty to have on its own, so pair it with rice and it's perfect. Oyster pancake was something new we tried and we were pleasantly surprised. CASH ONLY!!! If you have a larger party, make a reservation--there are 2-3 large tables that can seat 8 comfortably. The rest are tables for 2-4 people. There is also a small parking lot behind the restaurant (turn down St. James Ave) but it can get busy at times.
